Turkish stock exchange ends Monday in the green

Benchmark index gains 59.20 points on first transaction day of the week

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 10,929.77 points, up 0.54% from the previous close.

After starting the week at 10,911.28 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 59.20 points from Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 10,850.22, while its daily high was 10,942.58.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 10.12 trillion Turkish liras ($248.6 billion), with a daily trading volume of 118.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.9 billion).

During the day, 61 stocks on the index rose and 37 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,334.35, while Brent crude oil sold for around $65.55 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 40.8765, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 47.7280, while one British pound trading for 55.3070 Turkish liras.
