Turkish stock exchange flat at open

BIST 100 index drops 8.77 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Monday at 9,901.84 points, down 0.09% or 8.77 points from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 index fell by 0.9% to 9,910.61 points, with a daily transaction volume of 97 billion Turkish liras ($2.75 billion).

As of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT), the exchange rates stood at 35.4520 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 36.2210 for the euro, and 43.0640 for the British pound.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,690.19, and Brent crude oil traded at $80.40 per barrel.
