Turkish stock exchange flat at open

BIST 100 index drops around 9 points at opening session on Tuesday

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9.901,91 points, slightly down 0.09% or 9.16 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 soared 2.61% to 9,911.07 points, with a daily transaction volume of 145.8 billion Turkish liras ($4 billion).

As of 10.45 am local time (0745GMT), exchange rates stood at 36.4880 liras to the US dollar, 38.3050 to the euro, and 46.3270 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,897.10, while Brent crude oil was trading at $70.80 per barrel.
