Turkish stock exchange flat at open

BIST 100 index drops around 5.5 points at opening session on Friday

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 10,453.65 points, slightly down 0.05% or 5.43 points from the previous close.

On Thursday, the BIST 100 soared 2.65% to 10,459.08 points, with a daily transaction volume of 154 billion Turkish liras ($4.23 billion).

As of 10.05 am local time (0705GMT), exchange rates stood at 36.4805 liras to the US dollar, 39.5045 to the euro, and 47.0580 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,914.60, while Brent crude oil was trading at $69.40 per barrel.
