Turkish stock exchange hits record high at Monday's open

BIST 100 index gains around 95.6 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 11,467.97 points, up 0.84% or 95.64 points from the previous close, hitting a record high.

On Friday, the BIST 100 rose 0.52% to close at 11,372.33 points, with a daily transaction volume of 146 billion Turkish liras ($3.57 billion).

As of 10.20 am local time (0720GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.9995 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.0660 to the euro, and 55.4480 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,367.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.20 per barrel.
