Turkish stock exchange jumps over 3% at open

BIST 100 index gains around 280 points at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9,419.14 points, soaring 3.04% or 277.83 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 fell 0.67% to 9,141.31 points, with a daily transaction volume of 74 billion Turkish liras ($1.87 billion).

As of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.6090 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 46.0080 to the euro, and 53.8450 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,322.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.50 per barrel.
