Turkish stock exchange opens Thursday up

Benchmark BIST 100 index gains 49.28 points at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,123.90 points, up 0.54% or 49.28 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 fell by 0.66% to 9,074.62 points, with a daily transaction volume of 89.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.32 billion).

As of 09.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 38.6512 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 43.7400 to the euro, and 51.5315 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,326.60, while Brent crude oil was trading at $61.15 per barrel.
