Turkish stock exchange opens Thursday up

Benchmark BIST 100 index gains 52.33 points at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,451.26 points, rising 0.56% or 52.33 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 dropped 1.21% to close at 9,398.93 points, with a daily transaction volume of 82.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.13 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 38.8205 liras to the US dollar, 44.0895 to the euro, and 52.3095 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,328.80, while Brent crude oil was trading at $63.55 per barrel.
