Turkish stock exchange opens Thursday up

Benchmark BIST 100 index gains 31.49 points at opening bell

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,650.46 points, rising 0.30%, or 31.49 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 earned 1.26% to close at 10,618.97 points, with a daily transaction volume of 113.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.5925 liras to the US dollar, 46.6205 to the euro, and 54.0235 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,298.80, while Brent crude oil was trading at $72.10 per barrel.
