Turkish stock exchange opens Tuesday down

Benchmark BIST 100 index loses 28.06 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9,719.01 points, down 0.29% or 28.06 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 climbed 3.80% to 9,747.07 points, with a daily transaction volume of 127 billion Turkish liras ($3.27 billion).

As of 9.55 am local time (0655GMT), exchange rates stood at 38.8005 liras to the US dollar, 43.1775 to the euro, and 51.2780 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,261.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $64.80 per barrel.
