Turkish stock exchange starts week down

BIST 100 index loses around 13.4 points at Monday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 10,928.36 points, down 0.12%, or 13.43 points, from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 surged 3.14% to 10,941.79 points, with a record high daily transaction volume of 260 billion Turkish liras ($6.2 billion).

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT) on Monday, exchange rates stood at 41.9900 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.9030 to the euro, and 56.0070 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,081.90, while Brent crude oil was trading at $65.05 per barrel.
