Turkish stock exchange up 1.55% at opening session

BIST 100 earns 146 points at Tuesday’s open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9,553.24 points, up 1.55% or 146.08 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 went up by 0.29% to 9,407.17 points, with a daily transaction volume of 131.9 billion Turkish liras ($3.47 billion).

As of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), exchange rates stood at 37.9990 liras to the US dollar, 41.7510 to the euro, and 48.5590 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,009.8, while Brent crude oil was trading at $64.80 per barrel.
