Turkish stock exchange up 2.35% at open

BIST 100 index earns more than 220 points on Monday

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 9,611.21 points, up by 2.35% or 220.7 points from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 rose by 1.2% to 9,390.51 points, with a daily transaction volume of 107 billion Turkish liras ($2.76 billion).

As of 10.45 am local time (0745GMT), exchange rates stood at 38.7530 liras to the US dollar, 43.0620 to the euro, and 51.1025 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,219.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $65.30 per barrel.
