ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 9,882.79 points, rising 0.38% or 36.94 points from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index started the day at 9,840, losing 5.85 points from the close on Monday.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,788.47, while the daily high was 9,888.43.
During the day, 49 indexes lost in value while 48 closed the day with gains.
The total transaction volume reached 83.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.31 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.66 trillion liras ($241.2 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.0485 as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.3090, and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.7340.
The price of gold, was $2,900.7 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $76.57.
