Turkish stock exchange up at open

BIST 100 index earns 68.4 points on Tuesday

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week on Tuesday at 9,554.93 points, up 0.72% or 68.37 points from the previous close.

The stock market was closed on Friday and Monday due to the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

On Thursday, the BIST 100 rose by 0.12% to 9,486.56 points, with a daily transaction volume of 28 billion Turkish liras ($712 million).

As of 10.35 am local time (0735GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.2290 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 44.7420 to the euro, and 52.8990 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,329.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.80 per barrel.
