Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday's open

BIST 100 index gains around 17.4 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 13,855.79 points, increasing 0.13% or 17.41 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 soared by 2.34% to close at 13,838.38 points, with a daily transaction volume of 194.7 billion liras ($4.46 billion).

As of 10.00 am local time (0700GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.6050 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 51.9470 to the euro, and 59.6640 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,025.25, while Brent crude oil was trading at $68.80 per barrel.
