Turkish stock exchange up at Wednesday's open

Benchmark BIST 100 index rises 26.64 points at midweek opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 11,317.01 points, increasing by 0.24% or 26.64 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 fell 0.18% to close at 11,290.36 points, with a daily transaction volume of 120.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.82 billion).

As of 09.55 am local time (0655GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.8490 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.7135 to the euro, and 58.1435 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,495.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $62.10 per barrel.
