Turkish stock exchange up at weekly open

BIST 100 index earns 92.2 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 9,694.37 points, up by 0.96% or 92.21 points from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 fell by 2.09% to 9,602.16 points, with a daily transaction volume of 108 billion Turkish liras ($2.96 billion).

As of 10.25 am local time (0725GMT), exchange rates stood at 36.4140 liras to the US dollar, 38.2920 to the euro, and 46.0980 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,930.90, while Brent crude oil was trading at $74 per barrel.
