Turkish stock market closes Wednesday with new records

BIST 100 rises over 6 points to hit new record high closing

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul on Wednesday gained 0.27% to close at a new record high of 2,525.93 points.

The BIST 100 index also hit a fresh intraday all-time high of 2,536.49 points.

Starting the day at 2,528.24 points, the index increased 6.69 points from Tuesday's close of 2,519.24 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,951.80 by market close, down from $1,977 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was trading at $106.96 per barrel with a 0.3% daily loss as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
