ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,756.71 points on Tuesday, up 0.07%, or 1.23 points, from the previous close.
At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was at another record high of 1,755.48 points, with a daily trading volume of 23.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.1 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 11.5030 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 11.2730 at the previous close.
One euro traded for 12.9280 Turkish lira versus 12.6700 at Monday’s close, while the British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 15.4280, up from 15.1440.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $79.10 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
