ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,417.45 points on Friday, up 0.40%, or 4.70 points, from the previous close.
At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.13% to 1,411.752 points, with a daily trading volume of nearly 15 billion Turkish liras ($1.64 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 9.2100 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 9.1710 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 10.6950 from 10.6320, while one British pound traded for 12.6380 Turkish liras, up from 12.5680.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $82.92 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
