Turkish stocks looking up at Tuesday's open

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gains over 14 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 1,941.26 points on Tuesday, rising 0.76%, or 14.60 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 3.71% on Monday to close at 1,926.66, with a daily trading volume of 21.9 billion liras ($1.63 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.2445 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 13.0980 at the previous close.

One euro traded for 14.9641 Turkish liras versus 14.8580 at Monday’s close, while the British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 17.7913, up from 17.7000.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $79.03 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
