Turkish stocks open higher after record close

BIST 100 rises 0.56% at opening

ISTANBUL - Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 14,340.28, up 0.56%, or 80.39 points.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 rose 0.23% to close at a record high of 14,259.90 points. Daily transaction volume totaled 293.1 billion Turkish liras ($6.7 billion).

As of 9.55 am local time (0655GMT), the exchange rate stood at 43.7695 liras to the US dollar, 51.7570 to the euro and 59.2150 to the British pound.

An ounce of gold was priced at $5,017.25, while Brent crude oil traded at $69.95 per barrel.
