ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,423.62 points, up 0.45% from its previous close.
After starting the week at 9,456.17, the BIST 100 index earned 42.67 points from Friday's close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,407.56, while the daily high was 9,491.28.
On Monday, 57 indexes gained in value, while 42 closed the day with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 76.1 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.57 trillion liras ($226.3 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.0535 as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 43.2910, and the GBP/TRY traded at 50.1490.
The price of gold was $3,207.05 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $64.35.
