Turkish stocks up at Wednesday's open

Benchmark index gains 11.14 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 4,517.38 points, rising 0.25%, or 11.14 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 4,506.24 points, down 2.42%, with a daily trading volume of 41 billion Turkish liras ($2.08 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.4783 as of 9.44 a.m. local time (0644GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.4828, and a British pound traded for 24.3515 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $75.44 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,025.70.
