ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's Treasury announced on Thursday that it will repay debts worth 661.9 billion Turkish liras (around $21.2 billion) in the March-May period.

It will repay 146.9 billion Turkish liras ($4.7 billion) in external debts with 57.8 billion liras ($1.85 billion) in interest payments.

In the next three months, 515 billion Turkish liras ($16.5 billion) of domestic debt redemption is also projected – 204.5 billion liras ($6.55 billion) will be interest payments, while the rest will be the principal payment.

According to the ministry's borrowing strategy, the Treasury will borrow 513.2 billion Turkish liras ($16.4 billion) from domestic markets from March to May.

The Treasury has projected to hold 26 bond auctions and a direct sale of lease certificates – no planned external borrowing – during this period.
