ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's vice president conveyed condolences Wednesday for the death of Gambian Vice President Badara Alieu Joof.
Fuat Oktay expressed "deep sadness" on Twitter.
"As Türkiye, we express our condolences to the people of the friendly country Gambia and share their pain," he wrote.
Joof died "in India after a short illness," Gambian President Adama Barrow wrote on Twitter.
Joof was vice president since 2022.
