ANKARA (AA) - The number of Turkish nationals evacuated from Ukraine has reached 11,024, Turkiye's foreign minister said Friday.
Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter that 310 additional citizens set off from Ukraine on Friday.
Cavusoglu said 148 are coming to Turkiye from Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv via train, while the remaining 162 arrived by bus from Odessa, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytskyi.
Russia's war on Ukraine, which began Feb. 24, has been met with international outrage, with the EU, US and the UK, among others, implementing tough financial sanctions on Moscow.
More than 1.2 million people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries, according to the UN refugee agency.
