ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye on Thursday sent saplings and seeds to Azerbaijan for the "Türkiye-Azerbaijan Karabakh Jabrayil Friendship Forest."
According to Türkiye's General Directorate of Forestry (OGM), various steps are being taken between the agriculture ministries of Türkiye and Azerbaijan as part of a declaration of intent for cooperation on the sharing of modern technologies in agriculture and agricultural education.
In this regard, the forestry project in Azerbaijan's Karabakh and Jabrail is being implemented by OGM.
Forty-four thousand saplings of various species, such as acacia and sophora, from forest nurseries in Turkish Konya, Eskisehir, Mardin and Mersin provinces were sent for the forest, which will be established on an area of 65 hectares with the contribution of OGM.
In addition to the saplings, 150 kilograms of different seed species such as pine, yellow pine, larch and Aleppo pine from forest nurseries in Konya, Eskisehir, Mardin and Mersin provinces were sent.
