ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye extended condolences Wednesday to Burkina Faso after an attack on a military convoy caused casualties.
"We extend our sincere condolences to the friendly and brotherly people of Burkina Faso as well as to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives and wish the injured a speedy recovery," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry "strongly condemned the heinous attack" in Soum province.
At least 11 soldiers were killed and 50 civilians were missing in the terrorist attack on a 150-vehicle military-escorted convoy carrying supplies to the northern part of the country, according to the authorities in Burkina Faso.
