ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish agricultural sector posted its highest annual exports at $36.4 billion in 2025, according to data by Türkiye Exporters’ Assembly (TIM).

Despite frost and drought-related risks in Türkiye last year, the support provided against these risks in agriculture and water management resulted in a positive outcome in exports.

The economic administration continued to stand by entrepreneurs, while supporting producers in many areas, ranging from diversification of farming activities to technical issues, among others.

Fluctuations in global markets did not deter the Turkish agricultural sector from reaching record exports, thanks to the support policies considering producers.

The record export figure of $36.4 billion represents a 0.6% increase compared to the previous year. About 15.3% of the Turkish agricultural sector was made up of exports last year.

Fresh fruit and vegetables, ornamental plants, and furniture, paper, and forest products broke export records with an 8.9% increase to $3.7 billion, a 13.7% surge to, $159.9 million, and a 1.2% uptick to $8 billion, respectively.

Russia was the largest recipient of Turkish fresh fruit and vegetables, with $865.1 million, while the Netherlands bought the most ornamental plants worth $40 million. Iraq, meanwhile, imported $1.2 billion worth of Turkish furniture, paper, and forest products last year.
