Türkiye's annual inflation at 31.5% in February

Consumer prices up 31.5% on annually basis and 2.96% on monthly basis in Türkiye

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's annual inflation rate increased to 31.53% in February, up from 30.65% in January, official figures from the Turkish statistical office TurkStat showed on Tuesday.

An Anadolu survey predicted last week that the inflation would be at 31.4% for February.

Consumer prices in the three main expenditure groups with the highest weight increased by 36.44% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 28.86% for transportation, and 42.33% for housing annually.

The contributions of these main groups to the annual change were 9.07% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 4.63% for transportation, and 6.24% for housing.

Month-on-month, consumer prices increased by 2.96% last month, down from 4.84% in January.

The 12-month average inflation rate was 33.39%, down from 53.83% in the same period last year.
