ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye’s apparel exports hit a record high of $1.6 billion last month, up 5.5% year-on-year.
The apparel sector in the country was the fourth largest exporter among all sectors in January, according to the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) figures.
The apparel sector's share in the country's overall exports was 9.85% in January.
Germany was the main destination for the apparel sector's exports in January with $323.1 million, followed by the UK ($146.7 million) and the Netherlands ($143.4 million).
While the sector closed 2021 with an export figure of $20.3 billion, it set a target of $23 billion for this year.
