ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,612.84 points, down 0.38% from its previous close.
After starting the day at 9,774.58, the BIST 100 fell 36.69 points from Wednesday's close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,593.66, while the daily high was 9,830.83.
During the day, 52 indexes lost in value, while 47 closed the day with gains.
The total transaction volume reached 114.3 billion Turkish liras ($3 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.67 trillion liras ($228.6 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.0095 as of 6.30 pm local time (1530GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 41.1750, and the GBP/TRY traded at 49.2880.
The price of gold was $3,054.60 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $73.15.
