ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,995 points on Tuesday, down by 43.06 points, or 2.11%, from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index was up 0.28% to close Monday at 2,038.06 points, with a daily trading volume of 26.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.95 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.7700 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 13.6440 at Monday’s close.
The euro/lira exchange rate also increased to 15.5600 from 15.4620, while a British pound traded for 18.7045 liras, up from 18.6230 at the last close.
Brent crude oil sold for around $95 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
