Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends midweek in red

Benchmark index drops around 35.9 points at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended at 9,177.70 points Wednesday, down 0.39%.

Starting the midweek at 9,419.94 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 35.88 points from Tuesday's close.

The lowest value was 9,116.06, while the daily high was 9,247.97.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 8.34 trillion Turkish liras ($214.1 billion), with a trading volume of 64 billion Turkish liras.

Thirty stocks on the index rose and 68 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $3,317.70 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $64.80 per barrel as of 7 pm local time (1600GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 39.0790, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate at 44.1495, while the British pound traded for 52.6500 Turkish liras.
