Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Monday at record high

Benchmark index increases by around 53.9 points at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 12,254.83 points, up 0.44%, hitting another record high closing point.

After starting the week at 12,267.98 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 53.88 points from Friday's close.

The lowest value of the index was 12,228.02, while the daily high was 12,378.76.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 12.07 trillion Turkish liras ($280.9 billion), with a trading volume of 174 billion liras ($4.04 billion).

Some 55 stocks on the index rose and 41 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $4,624.50 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $63.15 per barrel as of 6.35 pm local time (1635GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.1235, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 50.4070, and the British pound traded for 58.1340 liras.
