ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 12,456.69 points, up 0.7% day-on-day, hitting a historic high closing.
Starting the day at 12,352.46 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 86.8 points from Wednesday's close.
The lowest value of the index was 12,300.40, while the daily high was 12,472.88.
The market value of BIST 100 was around 12.25 trillion Turkish liras ($284.3 billion), with a trading volume of 176 billion liras ($4.07 billion).
Some 71 stocks on the index rose and 29 dropped, compared to the previous close.
Gold was $4,615.30 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $63.40 per barrel as of 6.50 pm local time (1650GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.1940, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 50.2690, and the British pound traded for 57.9625 liras.
