Türkiye's BIST 100 index flat at midweek's open

Benchmark index gains some 14 points in opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,163.29 points on Wednesday, up by 0.27%, or 13.9 points, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up slightly by 0.01% to close the day at 5,149.39, with a daily trading volume of 86 billion Turkish liras ($4.53 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8740 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.1178, while a British pound traded for 22.8599 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.67 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,844.05.
