Türkiye's BIST 100 index opens Friday hitting another record

Benchmark index gains 33.49 points at opening bell

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the last trading day of the week at a new record high of 11,347.39 points, up 0.30%, or 33.49 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 surged 1.61% to close at the previous record high of 11,313.90 points, with a daily transaction volume of 145.3 billion Turkish liras ($3.55 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.0135 liras to the US dollar, 47.5780 to the euro, and 55.0080 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,326.10, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.25 per barrel.
