ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index on Friday topped the 13,000-point level for the first time.
The BIST 100 index rose more than 1.2% on Friday to stand at around 13,007 points as of 0800GMT.
The index keeps climbing on the new year, hitting record highs consistently in the month.
After starting the day at 12,924.20 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index has earned around 90 points from Thursday's close.
Since the start of the year, the index has gained 13.3%, including around 28.8% in the last 12 months.
The market value of the BIST 100 also exceeded 12.7 trillion Turkish liras (around $293 billion), with a trading volume of 219.8 billion liras ($5.07 billion).
