Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul sees new record high at close

BIST 100 index rises 0.8% at Tuesday’s end

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 4,962.48 points to hit a new record high closing.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 39.25 points, or rose 0.8%, from Monday’s close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,817,31, while its daily high was 4,988.20.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4 trillion Turkish liras ($215.15 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 107.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.76 billion).

During the day, 42 stocks on the index rose and 55 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,749.20, while Brent crude oil sold at around $84.12 per barrel as of 7.36 p.m. local time (1436GMT).
