Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul starts week on high note

BIST 100 index gains 31.6 points at opening session versus previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,254.38 points on Monday, up 0.98%, or 31.64 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.55% to an all-time high of 3,222.74 points at Friday's close.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 18.2242 as of 10.28 a.m. local time (0728GMT) from 18.2150 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.0626 from 18.2580, while a British pound traded for 20.8944 Turkish liras, down from 21.1500 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $95.28 per barrel, up 2.5%, as investors expect that the world’s biggest oil producers will likely agree on a production cut for October during the OPEC+ meeting later in the day.
