Turkiye's budget balance sees $2.97B deficit in April

Revenues come at $12.37B, while expenditures amount to $15.38B, official data shows

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's central government budget balance saw a deficit of 43.67 billion Turkish liras ($2.97 billion) in April, the Treasury and Finance Ministry announced on Wednesday.

The deficit figure stood at 40.61 billion Turkish liras ($2.76 billion) in March, the data showed.

Turkiye's budget revenues came at 182.11 billion liras ($12.37 billion) in April, while expenditures amounted to 226.38 billion liras ($15.38 billion).

Non-interest expenditures were 211.11 billion liras ($14.34 billion) and interest payments were almost 15.27 billion liras ($1.04 million).

One US dollar traded for 14.72 Turkish liras on average in April.
