ANKARA (AA) — The Turkish Competition Board imposed a 402.3 million Turkish lira (approximately $9.6 million) fine on sportswear brand Adidas, according to a recent statement on Friday.
The competition authority said it launched a probe into the allegations that Adidas interfered with the resale prices of its authorized retailers in Türkiye.
The probe found that Adidas determined the discount rates its authorized retailers could apply, the products for which the discounts could be made, and the discount periods, the statement read.
“Interference in authorized retailers’ pricing policies, especially on online storefronts, constitutes a violation of the Law on the Protection of Competition,” it added.
