Türkiye's exports total $20.3B in January

Exports decrease 3.9% while imports remain unchanged as foreign trade gap hits $8.3B in January

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's exports totaled $20.33 billion in January, down 3.9% on a yearly basis, the Turkish trade minister announced on Monday.

The country's imports stood at $28.68 billion in the first month of 2026, Omer Bolat said on Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

The foreign trade balance posted a deficit of $8.3 billion in January.

The main export destinations for Türkiye were Germany, the US and the UK in January.

The manufacturing sector had the lion share from overall exports with $18.9 billion in the month, following by agriculture, forestry and aquaculture with $1 billion and mining with $300 million.

The export-import coverage ration was at 70.9% in January.

12-month rolling exports of the country rose by 3.7% to $272.5 billion, and imports went up 5.5% to $365.4 billion, the data shared by the minister showed.
