ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Sunday met with Turkish businesspeople in Algeria as part of his two-day visit to the country.

"Our business people make the most important contribution to the development of our economic ties with Algeria. The entrepreneurship of our business people and the skill of our workers make us a world brand," Cavusoglu said on Twitter.

Cavusoglu started on Saturday his visit to Algeria to co-chair the first meeting of the joint planning group.

At a joint news conference with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra, Cavusoglu said over 1,400 Turkish companies invested more than $5 billion in the North African country.

"We are working together to increase not only our trade but also our investments here to the level of $10 billion," he added.
