ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's foreign trade gap narrowed by 1.5% to $7.2 billion in March on a yearly basis, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) released on Wednesday.
The country's exports totaled $23.4 billion in March, up 3.4%, while imports amounted to $30.6 billion, up 2.2%, TurkStat stated.
The export-import coverage ratio was 76.5% in March, improving from 75.6% in March 2024.
When energy products and non-monetary gold are excluded, exports were at $21.5 billion with a 3.3% increase in March 2025, and imports were $23.15 billion.
Foreign trade deficit, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, was at $1.6 billion in March 2025.
In the January-March 2025 period, exports were at $65.3 billion with a 2.5% increase and imports were $87.8 billion, up 4.5%.
The country's foreign trade deficit was at $22.5 billion in the three-month period, up 11% on an annual basis.
