ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's industrial production fell by 1.9% year-on-year in February, the country's statistical office announced on Thursday.
The fall followed a 1.2% year-on-year rise in the previous month.
Eight sub-items fell, while 5 sub-indexes saw rises in the month on a yearly basis, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
High technology index dove by 24.4%, capital goods index declined 6.7% and mining and quarrying index decreased 5.8% annually.
Meanwhile, electricity, gas, steam index increased by 8.5%, energy index grew by 8% and low technology index rose by 0.9% in February.
On a monthly basis, the industrial production also decreased by 1.6% in February.
Mining and quarrying index declined by 7.6%, high technology index fell by 6.9%, and the intermediate goods index dropped by 2.9% in February, on a monthly basis.
On the other hand, the electricity, gas, steam index saw a monthly rise of 3.5%, energy index 1.3% and medium high technology index 0.7% in the same period.
