ANKARA/ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye’s intelligence chief, İbrahim Kalin, met with senior Qatari and Egyptian officials in Cairo to discuss the latest developments in Gaza, according to security sources on Tuesday.
Kalin held talks with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Egypt's General Intelligence Service head Hassan Rashad as mediator and guarantor parties.
Discussions focused on advancing to the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement amid Israel’s increasing violations in the war-torn Palestinian territory. The sides also reviewed ways to intensify joint efforts in cooperation with the US.
The sides also agreed to strengthen coordination with the Civil Military Coordination Center (CMCC) to remove obstacles to the continuation of the ceasefire and prevent further violations.
Kalin reiterated that Türkiye would continue to stand with the Palestinian people with all its means.
